Foxwoods Open 2014

12th Foxwoods Open
January 22-26, 2014

The 12th Foxwoods Open was held at Foxwoods Resort Casino & Hotel, Rt 2, Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The Open Section was won convincingly by GM Anton Kovalyev who finished with 8/9, one and a half points ahead of his nearest rival.

In sole second place was IM Samuel Sevian whose performance was also good enough for a GM norm, which is very impressive in itself for a player who just turned 13 last month. Having done a little research, it looks like Sevian is the youngest American ever to score a GM norm!
