16th Pacific Coast Open

The 16th Annual Pacific Coast Open was held from July 14-17, 2011, at the Renaissance Agoura Hills Hotel, 30100 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills, California.

The Open Section finished in a 4-way tie at 4½-1½, with Sevillano, Khachiyan, Matikozyan and Howard Chen (from Washington State) each winning $1,120. This time Sevillano squeaked by on Median tiebreaks, 20.0 to 19.5 over Khachiyan, to capture the additional $80 bonus prize while successfully defending his coveted Pacific Coast Open Championship title for the second year in a row. The Under 2300 prize money, $640 per player, went to Konstantin Kovutskiy, Steven Breckenridge and America’ youngest Master, Samuel Sevian of Santa Clara.
