6th Annual Indianapolis Open

The 6th Annual Indianapolis Open was held from August 12-14, 2011 at the Wyndham Indianapolis West, 2544 Executive Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Grandmaster Timur Gareev won the Open Section, finishing with 4½/5 after securing a final round draw with FM Seth Homa. Gareev’s 3rd round win against the only other Grandmaster in the field, Dmitry Gurevich, proved to be the decisive moment of the tournament, virtually assuring a 1st place finish for Gareev, barring a disaster against Homa in the last round.
