Midwest Class Championships 2011

20th Midwest Class Championships
October 14-16, 2011

The 20th Annual Midwest Class Championships was held from October 14-16, 2011 at the Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, 601 North Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, Illinois.

In the Master Section, Bulgarian GM Atanas Kolev took first with 4½ points, receiving the $1,680 first place prize plus the $84 bonus prize for clear first place. FM Seth Homa won $840 for finishing in clear second with 4 points. Three players ended up with 3½ points: Macedonian GM Nikola Mitkov and French IM Colomban Vitoux each won $336, sharing 3rd-4th prizes, while Okechukwu Iwu took the $672 Under 2300 prize.
