The 24th Annual Chicago Open was held May 21-25, 2015, at the Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, 601 North Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, Illinois.

14-year old IM Jeffery Xiong won Open Section finishing with 7/9, ahead of 24 Grandmasters! A last round win over top seed GM Lazaro Bruzon Batista secured him a $10,300 prize and his 3rd GM norm.

A total of 10 FIDE title norms were earned during the event:

GM – Jeffery Xiong, Ashwin Jayaram
IM – Eric Rosen, Atulya Shetty, Sean Vibbert, Gauri Shankar, Kyron Griffith, Qibiao Wang
WIM – Rachel Ulrich, Akshita Gorti
